 I Love My Job!

I have been blessed to always have known exactly what I would become. Many have tried to convince me that I would not be a designer. Discouragement comes from the most unsuspecting places. Well meaning friends and family will ask "when are you going to get a real job?"

I was told by my seventh grade guidance counselor that I could not be a fashion designer. But through it all my mother always encouraged me and guided me to follow my heart.

Being an entrepreneur can be a lonely endeavor as well. Nobody gets the dream but you.

Nevertheless I love my job! I love it when a client puts on something I designed and it makes them feel special. I love doing a photo shoot where everything comes together like magic. I love the excitement of a good fashion show and watching a fabulous model float down the runway in one of my latest ideas.

I said all that to say just in case you don’t have anyone to encourage you I will.

You can do it!

 Don’t quit.

Keep learning, keep pushing yourself and most of all keep praying! God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above and beyond what you can think or ask!

What's Your Story?

Chances are at some point in your life fashion became a very important piece of your personal puzzle! For me it began at the age of eight and with my fashion model “Barbie” . My doll had lots of wigs, shoes and hand bags that came from the store but most of her clothes were designed and made by me. I continued my relationship with Barbie until 13 when I began making my own clothes. What may seem like a series of coincidences along with my mothers encouragement led to a life long rewarding career.

So how does your story begin?

What are your reasons for pursuing fashion design as a business?

What I know for sure is that this is a gift from God. What ever your personal reason may be He has a better one!

He has made it clear to me that my gift is in me but not for me. I have used my gift to change the way people see themselves.

And now I use it to open a door for others to come through and learn the business. Are you one of those who will walk through this door? If you are; Welcome to the fashion place where Love abides.
